Maria is Sierra's daughter and the reason why Natsume's fate was drastically changed. 12 years ago when Natsume is going to a picnic at the mountain with the little Riku and Daichi, he saw Maria picking a wild flower in the mountain. dazzled by her beauty Natsume is trying to speak with her, but the little Maria is scared and run from the little Natsume. Natsume is chasing her and then fell from a cliff. Maria whom felt guilt was activated her 'Blood Phantasm' and transfer her Dracus Blood to Natsume's body and make him into a half Dracus and can continue his life.
after Natsume returned from his rehabilitation, he meet with the grown up Maria, but he didn't aware of Maria true identity as the girl that he chased 12 years ago because of her different appearance during the daytime. when Natsume first being attacked by Nocturnal. Maria appeared before him in her battle gear and save him but then she gone withouth even say anything to Natsume. Natsume is trying to chase her but ended up meet her in her day-time appearance. Natsume that didn't aware of this asked her if she saw a twin tail girl or not which her answer 'no'.
later Natsume know the truth about Maria being a girl that he meet 12 years ago, furious with Maria's lie, Natsume scold Maria about giving her 'curse' to him that make Maria feel down and left Natsume alone. Maria that was alone in the student council office was being kidnapped by her little brother Siegfred Von Dracus, and later being saved by Natsume after Natsume saying his apologize to her.
